“People come here because they love to climb trees,” Conrad said with a laugh. “I think it’s a beautiful campus,” said Rachel Conrad, 20, of Pitzer College, a double major in environmental analysis and international studies. “The campus influenced my coming here,” said Larsen, who attends Scripps. “The apartments are almost like houses,” said Sibee Jokela, 19, who attends Claremont McKenna College but ate lunch on Friday at Scripps with her friend Jeany Larsen, 18. Students said they are struck by the beauty of the campus. There is also a 24,000-square-foot recreational athletic facility adjacent to a 25-meter swimming pool on campus.
